It’s a well known fact that submitting your blog to a CSS showcase site can, if you get listed, send your traffic sky high and, in some cases, keep it sky high. This is because the majority of the A-List bloggers and so called trend setters cruise these sites for interesting blogs to link to. A quality design often goes hand in hand with a quality blog and that makes the CSS showcase sites rich pickings for the big traffic brokers.
Trouble is, there are hundreds of showcase sites, the vast majority of which are just pale imitations of the few high quality ones. You could spend days submitting your site to every single showcase site. But, there is a much easier way.
A much, much easier way.
After studying 116 of these sites for some time I have noticed that there are only 15 which have original submissions. The other 101 all copy the big 15.
This means you only have to submit your blog to the big 15 showcase sites to get your blog to show up, potentially, on all of them, pushing your blog into the spotlight all over the web.
Here’s the list of the 15, in no particular order since they are all high quality sites. If you have a good looking blog with CSS underpinnings, and if you are running wordpress, moveable type, or any modern content management system then you almost certainly have CSS underpinnings, submit your blog to each of these sites. If you are successful and get listed by any of them you will get a potentially massive hit of traffic. If you do get listed you then stand a very good chance of being picked up by hundreds of other showcase sites, pushing your traffic figures higher and higher.

Just a quick foot note to this post. If you run a CSS showcase site and you think you belong on this list please let me know in the comments below. I only examined 116 sites and found 101 copying the 15 best. That doesn’t mean there are only 116 CSS showcase sites out there. If you have an original showcase site that doesn’t copy the big 15 then please let me know so I can add you to the list.

I run a site called Design Grabs.
It is a css gallery with a twist. Users can create an account and save sites that they come across with a bookmarklet (much like delicious) and create their own custom repository of inspiration. The best posts are then featured on the home page in a traditional css gallery format.

some people use these sites to see the latest and greatest and copy the code ‘all in the name of training’ of course ;)
thanks for the list DUGG!
I have in the past submitted websites of mine to certain CSS showcases–some of which listed above. However, I’ve only ever been featured in the lesser sites; the copy-cats. I guess I need to be a better designer.
It’s not exactly a CSS showcase site, but Patrick Haney has built up quite an impressive collection of inspiring websites, most of which I believe are CSS-based.

Ahh, I tried almost all of them (except for design with grid) and I only got into Design Snack and Command Shift 3 :<
Ok, this is another showcase site - not just for CSS but also Flash and DOM/AJAX. It was launched a couple of weeks ago and is already doing very well - lots of submissions and we don’t copy the big 15!
