Hello. I’m Ashley Morgan, the new pair of hands that Robert announced in the preceding post. The keys to Upstart Blogger were handed to me earlier today after Robert and I completed the deal in which a jazz musician purchased one of the most popular properties in the blogosphere.

You may well be wondering why I as a jazz trumpeter decided to buy a blog about blogging. I’ll do my best to explain my reasons and my plans for Upstart Blogger.

In the past few years my career has changed considerably. I’ve always maintained that any independent artist is best advised to take control of their own marketing and promotion. The internet has made self promotion a viable and credible business model for all sorts of publishers, musicians, artists, writers and many other professionals from all walks of life.

Blogging has allowed people to harness the power of the internet and reach out to an audience in a way that could only have been imagined as little as ten years ago.

I started blogging at the beginning of 2007. With the help of blogs like Upstart Blogger I quickly learned that design, blogging and wordpress skills were an important part of any professionals portfolio. Over the last year blogging has helped my career develop, enabled me to grow my audience and provided me with opportunities that would have otherwise been unavailable. The knowledge I’ve gained has been shared with other musicians who have also benefited in similar ways.

My plan for Upstart Blogger is to continue the good work done by Robert Ellis and to further share, learn more and exchange ideas about successful blogging. Helping to enable anyone to start, develop, benefit and profit from blogging.

I’ll post a more detailed biography in the next few days along with more in depth information about my blogging history. Then, once all the domain transfer and hosting details have settled into place, I will begin the next chapter of Upstart Blogger.
