2007 was the year that many bloggers figured out that real money could be made by selling their blogs as true internet properties. Indeed, I purchased Upstart Blogger after it was offered for sale in December last year.
Buying a blog that is already generating an income is a great way to kick start a blogging career. The trick is to find the right blog to buy. Of course, as with anything online that can make money, there are many hundreds of blogs for sale that are nothing but rubbish, set up by scam artists trying to make a quick buck from an inexperienced buyer.
However, there is a potential needle shining in the rubbish filled haystack. Blog Savvy, the blog consultancy business, is up for sale. Currently it has no bids, a starting point of $5,000 and a buy it now price of $10,000.
$10,000 might sound like a lot of money but, given its money making potential, it could be something of a bargain.
Here’s the description from the auction site, written by the current owner,
I set Blogsavvy up in 2005 as a blog consultancy agency and have got regular jobs out of it since, despite the fact that I’ve hardly updated it since 2006!
PR5/6, number 2 in Google for ‘blog consultant’ and a heap of great links.
It’s an excellent opportunity to continue to develop a blog consulting business, start another Blog Herald or get your problogging voice out there!
I’m genuinely surprised that this site hasn’t already been snapped up. I’m very tempted to grab it myself but I have so many projects on the go at the moment that I wouldn’t be able to give it the attention it needs to fulfill its potential.
Here’s a link to the Sitepoint auction page. Take a look. It might be worth your while.

It could be just me, but I see the blog as overpriced. Only if the blog is making that kind of money consistently, I would say that it is a fair deal. (break even at five months is good enough)
The traffic is measly and ranking for “blog consultant” won’t be that difficult.
sure, buy it up and hire me to admin it for you. i’m cheap.
