I’ll keep this post short since I’m in and out of the studio today, posting this from my Powerbook in between sessions.
Repetitive strain injury and carpal tunnel syndrome. Two nasty physical conditions that can make a bloggers life a painful misery. Thankfully they are both avoidable, and even treatable if prevention is too late, with this great little gadget.
Powerballs are handheld balls containing powerful gyroscopes. As you move your wrist the gyroscope spins faster and faster exerting a tremendous force on your fingers, hand, wrist and forearm. It’s like a workout for everything below the elbow.
If you spend a lot of time at your computer then give one a spin, literally. I’m sure you’ll feel the benefits.

Excellent suggestion. I’ve had one of these for years (the old style though without the rip cord to start it or the speedo) and they are great for all around strengthening in the wrist and forearm. I play guitar and type a lot…and I had a mild case of RSI many years ago - aside from the powerball, I found changing my keyboard layout to the dvorak keyboard has really helped, as well as stretching out the hands and fingers and also the upper back.
