Back safe and sound thanks to a professional backup team

I’m very happy to announce that Upstart Blogger is now back online after yesterdays difficulties. Credit where credit’s due, AN Hosting were fantastic in sorting this whole mess out. They took the site offline and out of harms way, took care of the problem and then loaded a backup copy of Upstart Blogger into place earlier today Nothing was lost since the backup they had was taken only an hour before the attack started.

Specifically I would like to thank Matt for his old school approach to tech support, Davey for his calming assurances, and Sergey for his razor sharp backup restoration skills. It’s great to know I’ve got a team like this behind the scenes supporting me.

Sorry if this sounds like a big slap on the back for AN Hosting but they really were fantastic. If this had happened to Dreamhost the site would have been down, lost forever and I would have probably had my account terminated for breaking the terms of service.

I use AN Hosting. Just since November and have been with Midphase since 2004, which is the same company, I believe. I’ve always been impressed with their support.

I have just started using them, and I am already impressed with the customer support that I get from them. Glad to have you back.

Happy for you it’s all be sorted and that you lost nothing in terms of data etc.

How can you stop this from happening again, is it something AN can look into, or are you at the mercy of whoever decides to get malicious?

Are there any steps in place?

More importantly, are you in a position to do anything about the attacker, in terms of holding them accountable, even legally maybe? I don’t know much about this, but in the ‘real’ world this would be seen as vandalism or GBH and appropriate steps taken?

Sure you don’t to publicly go on about it at this delicate stage, but would be nice for us to know if they could or may be held accountable for their actions?

    Whoever ‘they’ is.
