I’ve written about sources for Textpattern Templates elsewhere, but I just discovered Textgarden.org, a new site devoted to layouts for Textpattern. Whether or not you use a template for your blog, it’s useful to study templates to learn how they’re put together, especially when they include plugins you might want to use. One of the best ways to learn how to design a blog is to find some templates you like and then deconstruct them. I’ve used templates as the starting point for my designs a couple of times on this site.
