Sounds crazy doesn’t it? Taking the time to build a money making blog, attracting paying advertisers and then giving the whole thing away, including hosting, to someone else. Well, that’s today’s giveaway. Effectively free income, free money, a free blog. Whichever way you look at it this one is gold dust.
Last week I was contacted by one of my online friends. Like many pro bloggers, this friend of mine had started too many projects and needed to get rid of a couple. He wanted to know if the domains, and possibly the associated content, would be of any use to anyone taking part in The Pitch.
I was stunned.
Both of the domains had bags of potential but one of them was, in my opinion, a real winner. A five letter dot com domain name in a very popular and fast growing niche. And, it had an existing, albeit a little neglected, blog already running and attracting traffic and advertising.
Driven by a combination of altruism and necessity my friend handed the five letter dot com domain over to me, along with the blog and all the content, to give away to a couple of lucky Upstart Blogger readers. I also took control of the other domain name, but more about that another time.
Today I am going to offer to you, for free, the five letter dot com domain name including it’s current blog and content along with full lifetime hosting. You can have everything transfered to your own hosting if you wish. This blog currently generates an income, some of which is guaranteed since I am one if its advertisers. You really are looking at a free lunch. A turnkey, ready to go, blog with an existing income stream.
My friend has asked to remain anonymous and, of course, I will abide by his wishes. To further this anonymity, and to add a little excitement to proceedings, the domain name will also be kept secret until it is transferred over to a new owner.
All that is left for me to do is choose one of you to be the lucky recipient of this great prize. And, given my track record with giving things away, you probably know what is coming next.

Great opportunity, it seems! I have one question though:
How will I know if the blog is about a subject I know about? i think every blogger has his/her own niche, subjects they love and know well and that’s why they can write good posts there. But if I was given a blog about football or dogs, I definitely wouldn’t know what to write on it, as I’m not interested at all in both subjects.

Farfield – Good point. The blog in question is currently a Wordpress showcase blog, featuring the best Wordpress powered sites. It could be kept as that or expanded into a theme gallery, a more general Wordpress blog, or a combination of all three. It could also easily be used as a personal or portfolio blog for any Wordpress designer or consultant. It really is a cracking domain name.

Ah, another showcase site. I never get bored of trawling showcase sites. I love them! And the fact it is a showcase site for wordpress built sites that’s even better. It’s becoming the most used blogging software for turning a blog in to a site.
