Have you dreamed of adding a footer to the Upstart Blogger Modicus theme but just didn’t know how? There’s more than one way to skin a cat they say (who actually says this, I don’t know), but below you will find one way to add a footer to the Modicus theme that I’ve used.
In your Wordpress installation, go to your “Theme Editor” and navigate to the “Stylesheet”. There you will find all of the CSS definitions for the Modicus theme. If you go to the CSS definition for “footer”, you’ll notice that it’s pretty bare.

Because this footer CSS is already called in the “footer.php” page, all we need to do is define some actual CSS instead of leaving it blank.

After doing this we get this nifty footer area…(click image for close-up)
You’ll notice that in the footer I’ve added a couple of example links to my blog. You can add any information you’d like. Here’s the code I’ve used…(click image for close up)
By adding some CSS definitions to the footer area of the “Stylesheet”, you can add a footer to the Modicus theme. Learn more about CSS here. You can see a working example of the Modicus theme here.

I use the Modicus theme on my blog and I have added a footer before I saw this tutorial and it looks pretty good.
Btw, thanks for the theme. :D
thanks for the GREAT post! Very useful…
Hello and congratulations for your templates but I’ve a problem in the insertion of the footer. Firefox or IE display it in the middle of the page. I can’t put it at the bottom.
Any idea?
Maigret,
I’ve visited the link to your site, can you add the footer and post back so we can test your footer in our browsers? You can contact me via my link and then visiting the contact page.
Mail sent to you.

Hi, i’m having issues with this method of making a footer.
On pages with not much content I have a lot of space. The footer seems to take its 95% margin from the longest page & doesn’t adjust on shorter pages, in IE & FOX..
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Did anyone ever figure out what the issue was with the footer appearing mid-page? I’m having the same issue.
Same problem here. Footer appears in the middle of the page. Someone has a solution? Thanks
Hallo,
