Yesterday I posted an April fools day story. The story revolved around John Chow being a Google Android who had gone rogue. It was a bit of fun and got a handful of diggs. Thanks to everyone who linked to it or posted links to it.
While I was happily having a friendly dig at John and enjoying a little bump in traffic he was busy losing thousands of subscribers as a result of his actions. I’m not going to link to John for the simple reason that his site is loaded with scams and his April fools day joke could genuinely annoy you. Anyway, he clearly only wrote the post as a cross between link bait and a kick in the teeth.
John Chow’s post was full of the usual empty promises, super affiliates giving away free secrets, $200,000 per month income, that sort of thing. You’ve heard it all before. But today, his link had a nasty sting in the tail. Anyone who was gullible enough to click on his in post links had their browser hijacked and locked.
I’m no java expert, and I’m certainly not going to click the damned thing myself, but the comments speak for themselves. April fools day is supposed to be funny but it’s not supposed to be a slap around the face. And, to add insult to injury today John Chow posts a bragging statement claiming that his subscriber count is up as a result of his in depth knowledge of internet marketing.
That subscriber counter isn’t showing a higher figure because of any marketing skill. It’s something much different. It’s photoshop.
One look at John Chow’s site proves that his internet marketing knowledge is comparable to a bank thief’s knowledge of money making. Smash and grab. Hit and run. Every single time.
That’s fine in the short term. However, eventually people realize that a promise of making $2,000 in one hour, as appears in one of the many fake comments on John Chow’s blog, is nothing but a lie.
Don’t believe everything you read on the internet. In fact, don’t believe 99% of what you read on the internet. Especially if it starts with “super affiliate secrets”.

Good call. John Chow is a con man. Anyone who falls for his junk has no one but themselves to blame.
Not surprised he’d pull a stunt like that. I read through a bunch of his advice at once (can’t remember if it was posts or a free e-book) and found it full of morally unethical and legally questionable advice.
I like making my money from an honest day’s work.
Interesting stuff Ashley. I will avoid him completely.
Wow, never new of the scam. Thanks for the heads up.
man that makes me mad, I took a look through his site it is super sketchy, through and through
