Introducing the Upstart Blogger affiliate mixer

The easiest and most intelligent way to make money online is to learn from other people who are happy to share information, taking that information to the next level, developing new strategies and constantly improving the quality of the information pool.

A few days ago I revealed the method used by my highest earning affiliate that generates a four figure daily income.

Some readers loved it. Some readers didn’t love it.

Some have taken the information and made money with it. Some have ignored it.

And that’s cool. Everyone has a different approach to affiliate marketing. Some people like to throw everything they’ve got into their marketing efforts while some people prefer to take a more casual approach.

Both of those approaches, and every single approach in between is fine. What matters is that the technique employed suits the needs and aspirations of the person using it. As long as the people that want to be rich become rich and the people that want to make a little side income make a little side income, everyone is happy.

It should come as no surprise therefore that my affiliates fall into 3 categories.

Category 1. Multiple daily sales generating affiliate profits of between $94 and $1,552 on a daily basis. Category 1 accounts for 7% of my affiliates.

Category 2. Occasional sales generating affiliate profits of between $47 and $2,914 on a monthly basis. Category 2 accounts for 89% of my affiliates

Category 3. No sales. Category 3 accounts for 4% of my affiliates.

Look at the percentages. There is plenty of room at the top.

I speak to my affiliates regularly and my email door is always open. Many of the people in category 2 are very happy with their position. However, the people in category 3 are unhappy as are, perhaps unsurprisingly, some of the people in category 1.

Category 3 affiliates, the ones making no sales, are understandably unhappy with their position because they are making no money. Category 1 affiliates are, occasionally, unhappy because they are constantly reaching for higher figures.

Many people, people who are not comfortable with the affiliate world, can’t understand why someone making $1,552 every single day could possible be unhappy. The reality of this situation is that the highest earning affiliates often lead the kind of lifestyles that need a very large income to support them. They have expensive tastes. More than that, they are highly competitive people, always pushing, always wanting more.

Sharing information is key to moving people up the category ladder. If the people who are making nothing knew how the people making $1,552 every day were doing it they would do it as well, wouldn’t they? Similarly, anyone who was unhappy with the amount they were making, even if that amount was considered high by other people, could benefit from learning the tactics of those more successful than themselves.

At this point you might expect me to write another blog post explaining what the high rollers are doing. But, unfortunately, the honest truth is that I don’t know what they are doing. The method I detailed in my recent post was obvious to spot but I can look at several affiliates making over $1,000 a day and genuinely not account for their actions. I probably could if I spent countless hours analyzing traffic but that would take much more time than I have available.

Therefore, the way forward is for everyone who is interested in making more sales and becoming more successful Upstart Blogger affiliates to share their strategies, pooling their knowledge, learning from each others techniques so that everyone can move up the income ladder.

If you have a technique that you want to share leave a comment below.

It is my hope that this post will become a point of reference where affiliates can share information, ask questions and generally mix, discussing ideas and techniques that will help everyone to achieve their affiliate goals.

Ok, I’ll bite. I’m in category 1 and have been since I started using Genesis Rocket a long time ago, probably around August of this year.

I’ve been a pro affiliate marketer for 12 years and promote a total of 6 products at different price points.

    Here’s what I do…

Each day I open 3 Twitter accounts. I automate advertising (Tweeting 10 messages promoting Genesis Rocket each day at random intervals) with the Genesis Rocket script but I add a twist of my own – each account Tweets complimentary messages about the other accounts that I own to make them all seem more human.

My accounts also promote the other products that I market. Genesis Rocket drives traffic to all of my affiliate links across a portfolio of products.

Because of the way Google indexes my Twitter accounts (fast, very fast) I have a growing amount of traffic.

I currently have 223 Twitter accounts which drive a boat load of traffic to my affiliate links. I don’t have a blog or any kind of fixed website platform. I just use my Twitter accounts powered by Genesis Rocket to drive the clicks and the money.

It’s not passive because I open 3 accounts ever day and run Genesis Rocket on all of them. But I could quit at any time and leave the existing accounts to still pump the numbers. I guess I’m one of those ruthlessly competitive people – I just want more and more money every day.

Multiple accounts. All the way. I make a few sales each week with each Twitter account, all fully automated using the Genesis Rocket script.

Every time a build a new account I add traffic and make more sales.

I’ve been a Twitter user since December 2007 and a Genesis Rocket client since August 2009. I don’t use the script but use the method to build my following. The size of my following allows me to effectively say “look at how many followers I’ve got” and the sales trickle in without me having to “sell”.

My Genesis Rocket income is around $1,000 a month which is not enough for me so I’m eager to learn from any gurus who feel like breaking cover.

    Category 1 and proud.

612 Twitter accounts built at a rate of 6 a day and every account automated with Genesis Rocket.

    Simple.

I make a sale every now and then and made a few hundred dollars this month. Looking forward to learning from the master affiliates.

For the record I just have 1 Twitter account and no blog. I use Genesis Rocket to push my account but I don’t use the automation script since I want keep my account 100% human.

I’m a high category 2 but my income is climbing.

I have 3 Twitter accounts all driven by Genesis Rocket and the Genesis Rocket script.

I also Tweet naturally on all 3 accounts under pseudonyms as a ‘real’ person. That’s not as hard as it sounds since I use Tweet Deck and that can easily handle multiple accounts.

Maybe it’s a little dishonest but I don’t really care. Internet marketing is all about the money and gaming Twitter with 3 accounts certainly isn’t hurting anyone no matter what the Twitter protectionists might day.

2 Weeks, 3 Accounts with 1,200-1,600 followers, Not one sale yet.

  8. Alan Davison October 30th, 2009 at 12:15 pm

1 Twitter account, all home grown and personal plus another account that is 100% automated. I use Genesis Rocket to grow my followers on the personal account and the automation script on the other account.

I make a handful of sales each week which puts me in category 2. I don’t know whether it’s the automated account or the personal one that makes the money since I use the same affiliate link.

Another category 2 semi newbie with an auto account. Considering building more accounts but I only really wanted to make some extra money on the side and that’s what I’m achieving with an income of a couple hundred dollar a week.
