Is Anyone Interested in This WordPress Theme?

I recently redesigned one of my other blogs (Futurosity) and, while I like the design, I don’t think it quite fits what I have in mind for the site. I put a lot of work into the design, which would work for a blog that wanted a more magazine-like theme (it includes a custom home page and is designed for multiple authors), but it will also require some work to make it ready for the public. Before I make the investment, I’d like to gauge the interest.

Note: This theme has now been released. See WordPress Theme: Upstart Blogger Futurosity Magazine.

Here’s a preview (click to enlarge):

There are still some gaps in the content on the site, but check out Futurosity and let me know if you have an interest in this theme. Please leave a comment. If there’s enough interest, I’ll clean it up and make it available.

Thanks!

I think that layout would be really good for portfolio-type sites. I would use it for my portfolio.

I think I almost like this theme better than your previous theme for upstartblogger.com. It is a tough choice because everything you have made is very good.

  3. SDK August 29th, 2007 at 10:44 am

Definitely! It would be a great theme for an online zine.

As one of the readers said…I’d love to try it for my portfolio. It has that vibe.

Thanks for the offer, hopefully it will get out one day.

    Cheers.

Amazing! super clean, beatiful typography, you´ve gone and nailed it again, a good deal of the themes that I think are well designed seem to be yours. I hope this one gets released, but either way thanks for all the hard work and inspiration.

Yes i agree it is really super clean and yet can be very organized with lots of info. Great theme.

I would use it. I’m using Minim now but I would really like to move to something more magazine/newsprint-like. This theme would do that for me without adding a bunch of fluff to the overall design of my site.

Would this new theme be ad-ready like Minim?

  13. Upstart Blogger August 30th, 2007 at 9:20 am

Thanks very much for the comments. I’ve decided to release it, hopefully sometime next week. I hadn’t thought of it as a theme for portfolios, so I’m interested to see how people might use it.

@m: The column sizes will accommodate standard ad sizes.

    @UB: Thanks much. :)

I’m looking for a theme for our new website, and I really like your Futurosity theme.
It suits us because it seems perfect for multiple writers, and that is very relevant
for us. I also like your suberb designs.
I hope you are releasing it in the next few days because I would like to use it!
    Annette

Hi there, I would really like to use this theme for the online home of a print magazine that I run, there are a few things I would like to change, but I´m pretty green when it comes to php and css. So I was wondering if you wouls be available for support? We don´t make alot of money through the magazine right now but I would definitely like to donate what I can. Thanks again for making kick ass themes.

@Danny: Depending on the time involved, I might be able to help you out. I’m sending you an email.

I’ve just installed your modicus theme on my site, so I’m naturally interested in whatever you do. This look interests me, and, who knows, I might switch over to it eventually. Right now, I’m learning modicus and it’s teaching me how to customize themes. I do like your themes style.

I LOVE Futurosity Magazine, but can’t seem to get it to pick up categories in WP 2+ (the top columns pick up one category and just repeat it across all 6 cols). I hope you will work on it – I, at least, am waiting breathlessly for the new release.

  22. Anna November 8th, 2008 at 10:12 pm

I am having the same problem as S. Muhammad above. I’m pretty sure that a tweek of the code would in home.php would set me straight. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

These are the type of themes I like, clean and crisp with no fluff. Alot of the Wordpress Themes have to much in there designs. As beautiful as they are this in my mind takes away the importance of the content.
