Magazine Wordpress Theme Upstart Blogger Swiss

Swiss is a minimalist magazine style Wordpress theme. The front page layout follows a clear and concise two column layout with post excerpts running from left to right, top to bottom. Individual post and content pages are single column for maximum readability and impact. The international typographic style continues with Helvetica, degrading to Arial if unavailable, being used throughout combined with clear hyperlink styles and mouse over link highlights. The screen shot below shows the front page with the individual post page overlapping in front.

Page, category and other navigational elements are at the bottom of the page, accessible when necessary but not hindering the readers access to the content.

No widgets or plugins are necessary to use this theme. Simply download, unzip, upload to your theme directory and select Upstart Blogger Swiss in your Wordpress dashboard.

    Very clean. Very clean and very Swiss. Great work!

    I think the footer needs some work. It just feels all lumped together.

    But I don’t like überminimalized layouts anyway (it’s not bad at all, just not my style). For me, a layout must at least have some color.

    You have a small typo ” Click heret to download the file.”. Otherwise, thanks for the great theme.

    Very nice Ashley. Neat and clean, and oh so Swiss. Somewhat reminiscent of Takimata in it’s simplicity and approach.

    Love it! Have used it as a ‘gallery’ type portfolio with only minor modifications. Thanks for putting it out and being quick to answer my questions!

    Hi Ashley, great theme ! I’m trying to use this theme in my blog, I’m showing 30 posts on front page but at the end I can’t see any link to visit the older posts…it’s the theme or I need to activate or change something ? I would like to know if I can show an image in the excerpt of the posts…

    Thank you very much !

    Got a quick question: does the Swiss theme support images on the main page? I’ve been playing with the theme and images don’t show on the posts on the main page, but when you go to the individual post page then you see an image.

    Is the Swiss theme made this way? Is there a way for me to make the images show up on the main page? Thank you for any guidance.

    Thanks for this wonderful clean theme. For me and other german users i translated your theme in german language and changed some details like the hover links and something more. Maybe it’s interesting for some of your vistors. They can download it here: http://www.kickasslog.com

    Hey,
    I want to use this for a Photoblog, but would rather have a single column layout on the home screen, is there a quick way to do this, if not, what’s the best way??

    Thanks,
    Jeremy

    @Roger:

    Open your css file and find this code:

    #nav-below {

    Start a new line below and add this:

    display: block;

    That made the Older Posts and Newer Posts links appear for me.

    Anyone know how to display images on main page? Such as you would see in a css gallery?

    Thanks

    Ashley,

    I was bowled over by this swiss design, after looking at your themes, my resolve to host my wordpress blog on a dedicated webhost multiplied…and finally I did.

    There is a hidden charm to the way you design and code themes, Bravo!! Great work!!

    I will try to tweak it a little and also wanted thumbnails to display in my post…let’s see..
