New Upstart Blogger Wordpress themes on the horizon

I had hoped to release a new Wordpress theme today but with Wordpress 2.6 throwing some spanners in the works here at Upstart Blogger HQ things have been moved back a little.

There are currently a total of four new Upstart Blogger Wordpress themes on the chopping block, all being tweaked within an inch of their lives to make sure they offer something fresh whilst keeping the look and style that you’ve come to expect from this blog.

The first to be released is called Moleskine, a grid based, ultra legible, two columns running into three, black serif on cream (hence Moleskine) affair with an optional header graphic. Aimed at Moleskine fans and anyone who wants a blog that evokes a real world journal feel.

The second has the working title Futurosity Reloaded and is the successor to the very popular Futurosity theme. Swiss typography in a magazine style. Ideal for anyone looking for a Wordpress magazine theme that isn’t awash with the usual superfluous detail and fluff. If you like the original Futurosity theme but want something a little more contemporary then this is for you.

Number three and four are a little further in the future. It’s too soon to tell what shape they will take.

Moleskine will be released next week, once the test blog has recovered from it’s recent Wordpress 2.6 jitters. Furturosity Reloaded will follow a few days later.

Have a great weekend. And, in case you missed my advice the first time around, don’t upgrade to Wordpress 2.6 unless you are comfortable with the concept of risk and know your way around a Wordpress database.

  1. I for one can’t wait. New themes from Upstart Blogger = great news!

BTW: I also upgraded to 2.6 early but fortunately didn’t have any issues.

Looking forward to seeing them soon!

I’m using Stripped for my blog, I like so much your “Do blogs have to look like blogs?” inside your CSS… so I’m “impatient” for Moleskine !!!

Looking forward to seeing these! Nice to see you are following your own advice on your “traffic magnets”, calling one of the themes Moleskine is inspired!
