Upstart Blogger has never accepted bribes of any description. Paying for blog reviews, or any sort of pay per post transaction, is something that I’ve never liked. It destroys the integrity of linking blog is something that should be avoided by any blogger who wants to be taken seriously.
However, it’s a phenomenon that doesn’t look like it’s going to go away anytime soon. Around 20% of my daily emails are from people asking me to review their blogs in return for money.
The answer is always to same. No.
Usually I then get a flame email or offers of more money. But the answer is still the same. No.
I’ll try to be as direct as possible. If you want me to link to your blog then please go ahead and email me a link and I will happily take a look. But please bear in mind that I will only link to material that I feel is relevant to Upstart Blogger and its readers. If you have a product that you want me to review then, again, I’ll take a look but I will absolutely not link to any blog or any product in return for financial gain.
Sorry to be so blunt but I felt some clarity was needed.

Reviewing blogs could be an interesting web venture. There are a lot of blog directories around, where they’ll list any link that’s submitted to them but giving a review of a submitted blog as the main focus is something different.
It could also help a lot of people. For example, I’m afraid that there’s too much advertising on my blog (I know that even by thinking that I should take some of it off) - yet I believe it’s all relevant. Reviewing blogs could give people advice as to what they could do to improve their blog and earning potential, in my case - whether to cut down on the ads or not.

I couldn’t agree more paying for blog reviews just seems to counter the idea of natural linking and commenting.
