Beware. Keep your hands in your pockets and your credit cards in your wallets, Ryan Deiss is pan handling again. His latest information product is the optimistically titled Perpetual Traffic Formula.

Let’s cut straight to the chase. Like all internet marketing courses, subscriptions, membership sites and ebooks, this almost certainly isn’t worth a dime.

Ryan Deiss claims his perpetual traffic formula will drive perpetual traffic to your blog.

All for just $2,000.

$2,000!

Does it work?

We very, very, very much doubt it!

We can’t say for sure because we haven’t bought it and don’t intend to.

Why not?

Because it costs TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS!!

But wait. Let’s be fair for a moment. Ryan has enlisted the help of a slew of like minded pan handling internet marketers to push his product for him so it must work, right?

Right?

Well guys, here’s your chance to prove that Ryan’s snake oil search engine nonsense really works.

If you have used the Ryan Deiss Perpetual Traffic Formula and had success using it leave a comment below along with a link back to the blog that you have applied the system to. If you really have achieved perpetual traffic using Ryan’s magical instructions I’m sure you won’t mind sharing your success stories with Upstart Blogger readers.

Go on, don’t be shy.

Quick update – 5 minutes after writing this post we are on the front page of Google’s search results for Ryan Deiss Perpetual Traffic Formula!

Deiss is a con man, sure as eggs is eggs. Everything associated with him (Perry Belcher for one) and everyone who promotes his crap is also a con man.

Con, con, con, scam, scam, scam.

Thanks for putting this out there. BTW you are on page 1 of the Google search results for Ryan Deiss Perpetual Traffic Formula!

First time here, loving your work.

If you can get on the front page of Google so quickly (that’s how I found you – searching for info on the Ryan Deiss Perpetual traffic formula) how do you do it?

  3. Jon added these pithy words on 05 Aug 10

I think this is rather ridiculous to discredit a product you’ve never bought. Haha. Especially, advising others to do the same. Ryan Deiss actually gave away 3 different types of products prior to the launch that he could have easily sold for $47-$97 a piece.

I’m not saying his product is the “Holy Grail”, but definately work the 397 if you can manage that per month.

I’m actually more interested in his LinkBounder piece of software and not the course itself. I already know advanced SEO, but always looking for something for an All-In-One system. While PTF by Ryan Deiss wouldn’t deem to actually help me, I think it would for intermediate level SEO/Webmasters.

Here’s the biggest thing, don’t undermine something you have no clue about. It’s pretty ridiculous and makes you look childish to call someone who’s developed a product a “pan-handler”.

    Take care,

    Jon

That’s more like it. We come here to see scams get slammed, not to listen to chicks talk about what happens when they have a bad day. More of this, please.

  5. JJ added these pithy words on 05 Aug 10

First page of Google huh? Maybe Ryan can use some of his “search engine magic” to get your hoofed off the front page. Oh, wait, no he can’t can he, because his “search engine magic” is a crock.

  6. Upstart Blogger added these pithy words on 05 Aug 10

@jon if it’s so fantastic where is the proof? Why are you paying $397 a month for something when it’s screamingly obvious that it’s a scam?

You are getting results? Prove it.

  7. Sambi added these pithy words on 06 Aug 10

Honestly, I was intrigued and drawn to your post when I read the first part of it. Your warning and the bold statement that PTF is BS! But when I finished reading the post, I was disappointed.

Like Jon said, it makes you sound childish bashing someone’s product (or the person himself) without you actually trying it or EVEN attempting to give reasons as to WHY you think the product sucks.

Just the fact that it costs $2k isn’t enough reason. Tell us exactly why or which part you don’t think is true or will work… and your reasoning behind it. So far, your “assumption” isn’t doing you good.

Some stuff that might not be useful to you, might be to other people. To each their expertise level.

P.S. Good work for ranking no.1 for the keyword: Ryan Deiss Perpetual Traffic Formula … but then again, and not to sound negative: this is very easy to achieve for many webmasters, especially with a fresh new post. The question is, how long would you be able to maintain this position ;)

@Sambi Ok, where’s the proof? Share the blog that you have got listed and the keywords and phrases that you used. What value did you get from your $2,000 investment? If the Ryan Deiss Perpetual Traffic formula is so wonderful then let’s see some evidence.

BTW We didn’t rank number 1. We ranked on page 1. With zero effort and without the need for any $2,000 eBooks or videos.

  9. Sambi added these pithy words on 06 Aug 10

    You still don’t get it.

You are the one who started claiming it is BS, so YOU should provide proof that it is useless, not the other way round. I haven’t bought PTF and don’t have time for it now (happy with another method that is working for me). Later on, I might snatch it from his servers for free, as I rarely pay for stuff.

As for your ranking on page 1, like I said before, it doesn’t mean anything especially that your post is a fresh new one. I do that ALL the time. Question is, how long will you be able to maintain your position?

Back to our main topic: you STILL haven’t provides us with your reasoning behind bashing the product and claiming it is scam. Is it so hard to figure out what made you say that? Hold on.. let me guess… *cough* Price? *cough* and only price. Thus, your argument is invalid.

I get the feeling that you are a very young blogger (or new to this scene) and won’t understand my point. Either that, or you are intentionally doing a great job creating controversy to invoke comeback comments on your posts ;)

Wow!! I found a blog that feels the same way do. I have bought some of Ryan Deiss’s stuff. I requested a refund.

I got caught into a promotion and spent around $697.00 and found it was all old stuff and was not valuable any more.

I have purchased several of the Internet Guru’s stuff and returned it all only to find out it was over hyped stuff.

Glad to find this Blog. I’ll be reading through here for awhile.

    Cheers,

    Jeff Ragan

@sambi Keep trying. Difference is you can see where our page one ranking is. We can’t see yours.

First of all you defend Deiss. Then you say that you won’t pay for anything and will download it for free. Because you are using a method that works for you. So, where’s your blog? All you have to do to prove yourself is share your links.

  12. Bowman added these pithy words on 06 Aug 10

Is it a scam? $2,000 for a system that claims to be able to beat Google. Anyone with half a brain knows the answer.

Sambi and Jon are quite obviously affiliates for Ryan. That’s why they won’t share any URLs, because it will give them away as affiliates.

  13. Scambi / Sambi / Sam added these pithy words on 06 Aug 10

Sambi (AKA Sam on another blog that is bashing Deiss) is an affiliate for Deiss and a few other well known scams. He’s getting angry because blog posts like this take away his income and make it harder for him to make money from newbies who think that the way to make money online is to pay some guru a fat membership check payment every month.

Ignore him and he’ll eventually go away. He’s probably only here because he thinks he can leach some of your page rank.

    Thought so. Thanks.

  15. Andrew J. added these pithy words on 10 Aug 10

I don’t undertand why you say it is a scam?? Have you tested it?

  16. Seo Specialist added these pithy words on 14 Aug 10

I looked into the product as much as I could without purchasing it. I will not say it is a scam or a piece of crap because I didn’t buy it to check it out. I know how a lot of his other stuff is way over priced and out dated I was hoping this would be different.

I think you are out of line calling him out without purchasing but I have the same sentiment as you based on his prior software. One of the tools he gives away for free is somewhat useful his Cherry Picker tools and it’s free so you can’t complain there but I just wish you could drop in multiple keywords into it.

All I think he is done with PTF is showing newbies how to build link wheels or what I call mash up content. From reading through his copy and listening to what he was talking about and watching a couple of his video’s on PTF he talks about using 3 things to push content (article marketing, web 2.0 (bookmarks and microblogs) and blogs) but he won’t reveal how.

Upstart do you agree and think he is just spinning out a newer version of making link wheels to newbies for 2K? If done correctly it is the best form of link building but this is nothing new for an experienced link builders. You can do this yourself for free or pay about $100 and get all the tools you need to semi automate it for you.

I’ve had a glance at the first half of the program, it’s a little disappointing how remedial it is so far, with most training jobbed out to staff. Their 4 hour marathon telesessions show the mix of clients who bought in. It might make sense for certain busy businessmen who want to learn how to go online and need some handholding, as did stompernet which had what seemed like a large number of brick and mortar owners looking to expand.

An even more exaggerated claim may be Matt Trainer’s “Think Big & Kick Ass – $1 million PER MONTH business in only 180 days” Building and promoting blogs with the help of pricey automation service. THe 70 minute promo is suposed to show all the details of the plan.

thanks for this piece Upstart Blogger (the comment section is worth it’s weight in gold) I have been curious about his “stuff” shall we say, for awhile now, just goes to show … trust your own instincts

I can’t believe some of you actually paid for his two books and software. I re-discovered a link I bookmarked and downloaded his “perpetual traffic book”, “Google codes” (or something) and his cherry picker software without a hint of me having to buy anything.

I’ll try and remember to post the link tomorrow (on my office pc) so as to ensure someone gets to REALLY put his mythological SEO tricks to the test. Just hoping we’ll receive an honest review and not a dicey report by someone that’s either trying to affiliate market his products or rip his techniques apart because of a jealous underhanded scheme to damage his name.
