A few have complained that the design is too biased towards Mac users but, on the whole, I think that the pros outweigh the cons. And one of the big pros of a redesign, as always, is the sudden boost of traffic that it can bring.
Since last Thursday, seven days ago when the redesign was launched, unique visitor numbers have increased by approximately 10%.
I’m not sure why this phenomenon persists. Perhaps it’s just curiosity, with many bloggers looking for blog design inspiration searching for posts about redesigns. Or perhaps blog redesign is just one of those mysteriously attractive search phrases. In the end it doesn’t really matter why it works, I’m just pleased that it does since extra traffic is always a pleasant surprise.
So, if you want a sudden hit of traffic, redesign your blog and blog about the redesign. I guarantee your traffic will rise.

An interesting occurrence indeed. I’m looking forward to having a custom design done for our blog - as of right now we’re using one of Smashing Magazine’s awesome WP themes.
But a fresh redesign is kind of like rearranging your bedroom after a few years - it spices things up a little!
