Revisiting the dawn of the blogosphere
With news of the awe inspiring Big Bang machine dominating every conceivable network I thought it would be interesting to discuss the blogosphere’s very own Big Bang, and, more specifically, what you would do if you could go back and revisit it.
Although blogging was in existence as far back as December 1997, albeit under a variety of less catchy names, everything changed in 1999.
I’ll save the detailed history lesson for another time. Instead, what follows is the two sentence version of events that changed the internet, and the world, forever.
Evan Williams and Meg Hourihan founded a company called Pyra which, in August 1999, went on to release an originally in-house tool coded by Paul Bausch and Matthew Haughey. That tool was called Blogger.
From that point on nothing would ever be the same again.
So, without further ado, lets imagine the clock has somehow turned back. Perhaps the Big Bang machine has finally revealed the secret of time travel. The playing is field is wide open and the potential rewards are ripe and plentiful. Taking the knowledge that you have now with you, what would you do?

Blogging really gave everyone a chance to have a presence on the internet, not just those with computer skills and programming knowledge. It’s brought so much knowledge on such a wide range of topics and skillsets and specialties to the tips of our fingers with just a Google search. if I had a time machine I’d go back and put a copyright on words like “blogosphere”.
Because my coding skills are average, I would hire a team of hip developers and programmers and I would create a social network dedicated for musicians and industry players to connect and network.
