In my experience, 'things can ALWAYS get a damn site worse'. It's just wishful thinking and relying on hope and a period of time that is free of crisis. But it's all random and out of our control, so I find to not tempt fate I just don't even try to acknowledge 'bad moments' if I can. Just ride them out and see what's round the corner.
