I'll take 100,000 zombies. I don't use brute force... I made my own auto twitter follow script using the twitter API. 100,000 followers across 10 twitter accounts is worth about $10 a day... No work, no tweets, never even going to twitter.com. I know it's not a lot but $300 a month is a car payment. Give me more zombies!

Thanks for this - was looking for some more info on this supposed "feeder loop" after reading a review from a legitimate social media blogger - what a joke!

In all seriousness, though - why exactly do you follow everyone who follows you? I don't auto-follow, and i haven't seen the benefit of following back all my followers, nor do i have time to go checking every new one.....

Congratulations on a well timed and very funny article. Gunner Sykes is obviously part of the whole Brute Force crew otherwise he wouldn't have blurted out all that crap.

Keep up the good work. Keep exposing the scams. Keep keeping it real.

Gunner Sykes, congratulations on revealing yourself as a supporter of Brute Force Twitter. It's always fun when people like you come out of the woodwork and defend the spammers.

Spammers are a menace, on Twitter or anywhere else. Tools that encourage them to spam are also a menace and need to be exposed wherever possible to prevent the naive from thinking they can spam their way to a quick fortune.

The individual selling this product uses lies and false promises to persuade those more gullible than himself to part with hard earned cash. Perhaps that is something you are ok with.

Your attitude certainly marks you out as someone who is either gullible, ignorant, stupid or a combination of the three.

If this is all true, the twitter is even more shallow than i first thought. All this follow/followers gimmick, how is this any different from those people on myspace who have like 5000 "friends"?.
I'm yet to find any use to twitter other than broadcast tool for those who don't do rss.

So, the new way to make money is to knock other people trying to make money?

Your business model looks like everyone doing everyone else's laundry with a twist -- you seem to delight in airing anything you consider dirty laundry.

Sorry, I ain't buying it.

Certainly, there is value in having a large following on Twitter. Yes, even those horrid "spammers" purchase goods. Also, having a large following attracts more followers.

Would I pay $97 for that product?

No, I wouldn't.

I sure as hell wouldn't buy anything from you, either.

Oh, and before you go accusing me of being in league with the promoters of that product, just forget about it. It just ain't so.

I have been in sales and marketing for a long, long time. Anyone who profits from knocking other people's products is a scumbag -- much worse than the people selling that information product.

At least they aren't obnoxiously self-righteous.

I'm sure it is possible to make some money out of this 'technique', perhaps in conjunction with the Magpie thing. Similarly, email spam must work, or people wouldn't bother. But why would someone want to take such a vacuous route, knowing that they're irritating innocent people, when Twitter could equally be used to interest people and be stimulated yourself?

I must confess that, in a ridiculous moment of experimentation and slightly disturbing obsession with the numbers, following certain notorious spam-type people resulted in a herd of these twits (pardon the pun) showering my email inbox with 'is following you' messages. But obviously all they did was pad out the numbers like rusk in a sausage, and create a warm fuzzy feeling in my inner shallow idiot - there was no enhancement of my Twitter experience.

Richard, if you Google a little creatively you'll soon find it. As for my 1,147 following figure, I just went to a Twitter directory and searched for musicians on Twitter. I followed the ones that looked interesting and have already made some new contacts. Things spiraled pretty quickly!
