I’m concerned that my recent Wordpress 2.5 upgrade has caused the recent problem with Trackbacks and Pingbacks so I’m going to spend the rest of the afternoon backing up Upstart Blogger and reinstalling Wordpress from scratch. During this time all of the plugins will be disabled so the page will almost certainly throw up some errors. If I can’t fix the problem then it could be redesign time again. I really hope things don’t get that drastic, but a blog about successful blogging that doesn’t have fully functioning Trackbacks and Pingbacks isn’t cool.
So, for the second time, Wordpress 2.5 here we come.

Where did you go? Did the install cause havoc?
Jonah - Yes, it caused a huge amount of damage and managed to trash pretty much everything. Thankfully the guys at AN Hosting got me back up and running. It proves that Wordpress 2.5 isn’t quite the easy upgrade that it should be.
i upgraded to 2.5 and all kinds of things went crazy. some plugins stopped working properly. i’m not upgrading my wpmu blog to the merged version until I’m sure its stable.
