So I’m getting an error after installing Pligg and am not finding much online for it. I was hoping you might be able to help, given how informative this site is.

Fatal error: TPL: [in wistie/pligg.tpl line 3]: syntax error: checkActionsTpl function does not exist (class.compiler.php, line 485) in /home/urcomity/public_html/test/class.template.php on line 923

This is the error I’m getting. It seems as though it’s not finding the function checkActionsTpl, not sure if this is because I’m missing the file containing the functions or what. I’ve tried looking for it, but haven’t come up with anything.

Any help would be appreciate.

I apologize if this isn’t the place to post such a question, but I’ve just turned up nothing looking on the internet.

Color definitions are not in a .tpl file, they're in the main.css file (or other CSS files) in the template's /css folder. You would also have to edit the CSS file to give the template a fixed width.

In which .tpl file do I find the CSS color defintions that give the template its overall colors? I want to change the default colors to something else, such as dark smoke grey. Also, is there a setting anywhere to set the page (table?) width to something static and non-resizing, rather than scaling to fill all the horizonal space (so that it would be in harmony with my main site, that does not change horizontal widths)?

This is a great help. I figured installing pligg is a great way to get away from coldfusion and .net and dive into PHP. I’m sure I’ll be back here a few times!

One thing - could you please clarify: TemplateName With this, is TemplateName the â€œcodeâ€? word, and just the >TemplateNameTranquillizer

Kung-fu kid, sorry that wasn't clear. I've edited the post to (hopefully) clarify this. TemplateName means the name of your template. So, if the name of your template is Tranquilizer, you'd put in the name of the template folder and then the name of the template. Like this:

Excellent explanation of Pligg. I was pretty overwhelmed when i first took a look at the pligg files. I have managed to make changes the pligg.tpl and sidebar.tpl, but only enough to add some extra content. Looking forward to trying my hand at creating my own hacked template.

One thing – could you please clarify:

TemplateName

With this, is TemplateName the “code” word, and just the >TemplateNameTranquillizer
