August was a great month for traffic, feed subscriber count and income. Every possible metric has moved in the right direction with one exception. Traffic for August 2008 rose to 43,941 unique visitors generating 96,243 page views and an income of $3,745. Although the growth is steady it is hoped that September will allow a good amount of growth and a slingshot into a more successful final quarter of 2008. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining, just trying to push things a little faster.
My Technorati rank took a slight dive though, back down to position 127 and then rose back to 81 before the end of the month. Again, I shouldn’t be angry with this since 81 is still in the coveted Technorati Top 100. It’s just never nice to see a metric change direction after such a long period of positive movement.
Much as I enjoy looking at the shiny Technorati Top 100 badge it is nowhere near as important as the number of unique visitors and the income generated. After all, it’s nothing that a couple of new Wordpress themes can’t fix.
I’m going to set an income figure for September of $4,500. A little ambitious perhaps but I have a couple of tricks up my sleeve for later on in the month that should make it an achievable sum.
Just imagine how much you could make if only you sold a couple of premium themes ;)
What is the income breakdown, where does the money all come from? Midphase?

Thats a good short article. I’ve been a webmaster for my colleges website using CMS and have used Joomla for a few projects but I just started blogging last weekend.
Im happy to say that as I speak at 10:33AM, I have 100 hits so far today (unique). I write about e-commerce and my experience from a start up 8 months ago to where we are now.
Ive had alot of good feedback and above all (but would like to make some money) hope I can give back to everyone out there.
Right now im not worry about SEO, themes etc. Im putting up what I think is decent content to build traffic. I think when I get to 250-500 unique/day ill start focusing on making money from there.
