Upstart Blogger income statement for December 2008

I’m thrilled to report that December was another record month as traffic and income continued to push forward. Unique visitors reached a new high of 89,426 and page views breached the 200,000 mark, but only just, at 201,402.

Technorati and Alexa have, yet again, proved themselves to be absolutely useless and totally unreliable. They are, truly, the Myspace and Facebook of the online statistics arena.

The total income generated by Upstart Blogger in December 2008 was $7535, higher than before but not quite as high as I had hoped for. However, my other blog that I launched in December 2008, even though it is still not fully designed, achieved 11,345 unique visitors, 17,917 page views and an income of $1,285. And that is particular encouraging, especially since it proves that it is possible to make a good income in a short space of time in a market that is, according to the old media dinosaurs, out for the count.

An extra $1,000 per month is a very welcome addition. Especially since the blog that is generating that income is doing so without any major work and around 90% of it’s traffic is coming from right here at Upstart Blogger. Proof that making money online with a blog is pretty easy if you have traffic and that traffic is pretty easy to get if you have good advertising.
