I’ve updated Upstart Blogger Modicus to version 0.3. Both the standard 3-column version and the 2-column version are now WordPress 2.3-ready. I’ve added tags to individual posts and a tag cloud to the sidebar.
If you are upgrading from Modicus 0.2, you may not need this update. There are no changes to the style.css files in 0.3, so if you haven’t altered the template files you can just keep your old style sheet and copy over your old template files. If you’ve modified your template files, there’s no need to copy the new files. Just add the new WordPress 2.3 tags yourself. It’s easy to do. See the Codex on the_tags and wp_tag_cloud.

It appears to have been over a year since the last update to this theme. Is there any chance that I could persuade you to take a closer look at the SEO? In research on SEO, I have found that there are a number of areas that could use some work – especially the use of heading tags. I am using the headspace2 plugin to help me overcome some of the issues. While I am not a developer I do have a tiny bit of programming knowledge. I’ll be doing my best to tweak little things, but I really don’t have much hope of doing justice to the whole project. Thanks for the consideration – and for developing such a visually simply theme!
I just started to use this theme in my new site about the Foreigners in Japan (in Spanish). Thank your for this beautiful theme, I made some modifications but keep the central concept plus I tranlated in 95% to spanish as my site object audience are spanish speakers. Take a look if you have time.
