Actually, I read a recent article which said that a lot of sites were reporting more traffic from Facebook than Google. I’ll have to find the link. But several major sites showed numbers like FB 8.6 percent to Goog 7.8 percent. Not huge margins. But I’ve never had a social network edge out Google and other search engine traffic before.

Especially now with their redone public profile style pages, I suggest you set one up for Upstart Blogger, or for your music, and see how well it works. I’m having lots of fun and good results from experimenting with the “viral” properties of Facebook.

I have the same opinion as you Ashley since long time I have avoid the thousands of invitations I receive from my friends, but finally a couple of months ago finally I sing on Facebook just because has an app. for iPhone. I’m thinking to join to twitter but I prefer to still wait.

FWIW, I’ve found Plurk to be far more effective at driving traffic to my pages than Twitter, and better for just making basic connections with people.

I haven’t checked out Virb, Linkedin, or Ryze, but I’ll look into them. Thanks for pointing us that way.
